Teaser Tuesday - Beautiful Creatures, by Kami Garcia

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their To Be Read (TBR) Lists if they like your teasers!

----------

I'm currently reading Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia.  I saw the movie earlier this year and quite enjoyed it, and didn't even realize it was based on a novel until after watching the film.  This will be the last Tease from Beautiful Creatures, as I finished it today. In this scene, Ethan finds himself in the middle of a violent confrontation that he has little chance of surviving...

The Tease:

"Fire is loud, full of rage and chaos and destruction.  And fire was all around me.  The smoke in the air was so thick, I was choking on it.  The heat was singeing the hair right off my arms.  It was like a vision from the locket, or worse, like the last of my nightmares - the one where Lena was consumed by fire."

What's your Tease?

  1. Good teaser. May I ask what you thought of the book? I tried to read it but I couldn't finish it... I just wasn't overly keen.

    Here is my teaser: http://gulp-fiction.blogspot.co.uk/

    Great blog - like the mix of TV and books etc! I am new follower. Can't wait to check out more of your posts.

    1. Hi Amber!! I have to say that I really did enjoy Beautiful Creatures. I've been horrible about writing reviews lately, but at some point I hope to do a review that compares the book and the movie. Both were good, but the book had more detail and felt like a more complete story.

      I especially appreciated the fact that the main POV character was male, which isn't something that I've seen before in YA/NA novels.

      Thanks for following! I'll be heading over to check out your blog and your Tease!

  2. I definitely appreciated the tables turning - usually with these paranormal romance type books it is the girl who finds out some big mystery about the guy etc... I couldn't finish it though. I may watch the movie and see if it changes my mind.

    Thanks for the follow!
