Teaser Tuesday - Soulless

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their To Be Read (TBR) Lists if they like your teasers!

The Tease:
"Miss Tarabotti, with nothing but her own thoughts for company, was left alone in the dark.  She was particularly annoyed with herself; she had meant to ask about the brass octopuses appearing everywhere." - Soulless, by Gail Garriger.

What's your Tease?

  1. My gosh, when something is taken out of context it makes it all the more interesting. Brass octopuses? I'm intrigued. I'm still waiting for Soulless to be available at my library. Would it be worth putting it on my Christmas/ Birthday list?

  2. LOL! That's part of why I love this meme - you have these little snippets taken out of context that sometimes don't make sense at all and sometimes, are far more interesting than they have any right to be!
    And yes, I think it's a must read - I bought the Soulless to see if I would like the series, and am now in love and went this weekend to purchase the next two in the series - so put it on you Christmas list at least! ;o)

    Oh! And The Parasol Protectorate books are on my list for the Steampunk Challenge - gotta buy 'em first, though! When I asked for recommendations on my first scheduled foray into Steampunk, "Soulless" came out at the top of the list!
