I'm mildly intrigued by the new TV series Dracula that premiere's tonight (10.25.2013). My first thought when I heard about it was, "Do we really need another Dracula/vampire show?"
Then I realized Jonathan Rhys Meyers was in it, so I'll give it a shot and see how it is.
Also premiering tonight, Season 3 of Grimm.
Friday night is (hopefully) about to get interesting again...
(He also watches TV & movies, scrapbooks, travels, and a million other things - But mostly he reads).

TV News - Doctor Who 50th Anniversary
Most of you have probably already seen this, but yesterday the title of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special was announced with this poster.
The image is stunning, and it looks like Clara and Rose might meet. (Maybe? Please?) I can hardly wait to see what happens!
What do you think of this new teaser poster?

TV News - The Walking Dead, Season 4
It's coming! I can hardly wait!
However, as posters go, it's not the most dynamic. Rick has that crazy, disheveled, about to collapse thing going on - definitely not the strong, bold character of previous posters.
What do you think?

TV News - Arrow Season 2 Poster
Color me intrigued. I loved Season 1, so I'm definitely looking forward to Season 2! Also, totally digging the Island in the background.

TV News - True Blood Returns!
I'm sure those of you who care are probably also already aware of this - but just in case, it's almost that time of year!!
The posters this year have been somewhat boring, in my opinion. But I'm ever so excited about the return of all my favorite vampires!!

TV News - The Walking Dead Mid-Season 3 Poster
This happened last week, and I somehow forgot about it until today:
February 10, 2013 will be the first of 8 new episodes which will complete Season 3. I can't wait!!
As for the poster itself? Meh. It's not nearly as dynamic and interesting as some of the previous ones, but maybe it fits the tone of the second half of the season? I guess we'll see! For more info you can go to AMC.

TV News - New Official Poster for Season 3 of The Walking Dead
AMC revealed a new poster for Season 3 of The Walking Dead, which returns on October 14th - Only a few weeks away!
I love this new poster, and I think the tagline is great - "Fight the Dead. Fear the Living." Sounds like Season 3 will explore new territory and new threats to Rick and Company. So far, fighting the dead has been their main concern. Now they face a new menace - the living.
To me a prison sounds like a horrible place to take refuge. What are your thoughts on the new poster, or Season 3 in general?

TV News - AMC's The Walking Dead
You may have already noticed this, as it seems to be making the rounds today - but only two episodes into Season Two, The Walking Dead is breaking cable ratings records all over the place, and so it comes as no surprise that AMC announced today that they have already renewed the show for a third season. Hooray!!

TV News - AMC's The Walking Dead
Some of you may have already seen this, but the word out of Comic Con this afternoon is that Season 2 of AMC's The Walking Dead will premiere on October 16th, 2011! Hooray!
I heard that Season 2 will consist of 13 episodes, which as you know (if you've been paying attention) is more that twice as many episodes as Season 1! However I haven't yet found any confirmation of that on AMC's website.
There's a new 4 1/2 minute trailer for Season 2, which combines old and new footage of the show. It is, quite simply, breathtaking!
I've never been so excited for the end of summer before, but at least we have this to look forward to!

Things I'm excited about...
1. A new TV series on TNT that will premiere in June called "Falling Skies." According to the website,
"FALLING SKIES opens in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of the world completely incapacitated. In the six months since the initial invasion, the few survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back. Each day is a test of survival as citizen soldiers work to protect the people in their care while also engaging in an insurgency campaign against the occupying alien force...FALLING SKIES focuses on the resilience of the survivors and their determination to maintain their humanity when all else has been destroyed. It is a tale of endurance, commitment and courage in which everyday people are called upon to become heroes. They may be outmatched, outnumbered and outgunned, but nothing can beat the human spirit. Most of all, the series is about the ties that bind people together in the most difficult of circumstances."
I haven't seen anyone online mention this new show yet - probably because it's weeks away still - but it looks fantastic! And I loves me some Noah Wylie!
2. New Movies!! There are several movies just out and coming soon that I'm excited about. I've already mentioned Scream 4. In addition to that, I can't wait to see Water for Elephants. I'm also looking forward to seeing Hanna, Rio, and The Conspirator (Directed by Robert Redford).
3. HBO's Game of Thrones. Episode 1 was fantastic and amazing, and was a perfect introduction to the world of Westeros and the multitudes of characters involved in the story. It was also an unqualified success, drawing over 4.2 million viewers on it's premiere night, prompting HBO to order a second season after airing only one episode!!
4. I've almost finished "The Gandalara Cycle: #7 The River Wall," which is the concluding novel in the series. (Hopefully I'll have time to get some reviews up sometime during the next week). Once that's finished, the book on my TBR List is "Changes" by Jim Butcher, which is Book #12 of The Dresden Files, a series that I am enormously fond of, so I'm really looking forward to starting that.

News - Game of Thrones
If you haven't yet seen them, there are new photos available from the Game of Thrones website. This time they're showing us some of the high-res CGI background landscapes, and they are gorgeous!! I especially like the Wall, and King's Landing - those two are the best, in my opinion.
Check out the photos here at the HBO website! They seem to be doing a fantastic job and I can hardly wait until the premiere next month. Mark your calendars, y'all - April 17, 2011!

Totally Random Thoughts
1. Why am I so frakkin' obsessed with ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars? And when I say obsessed, I mean it - I can't stop thinking about it for days after I watch each new episode on Monday nights! Who the hell is "A", and how does he/she know so much?!?!?! OMG, you guys!! The weird thing about the show is that each episode generally has one huge reveal near or at the end of each episode, something that shocks and surprises you, yet that HUGE reveal usually means absolutely nothing and doesn't really go anywhere, and might even be completely ignored for several episodes - all it does is make the mystery even deeper!

But I can't stop watching...
Right now my favorite candidate for "A" is Jenna - I don't believe that she is really blind - OMG, I think she's totally faking it!! I don't think that it's Ian, because he's way too obvious, although he definitely has something going on and I think he was totally involved in Allison's death, (and I think he's the prime suspect for locking Spencer in the tiny closet), but I don't think he's "A" 'cause it just doesn't seem his style.
Also, I can't decide if the romance/relationship between Ezra and Aria is totally "Awwwwww..." or completely "Ewwwww!" The responsible adult me thinks that it's totally inappropriate and wrong, but the 12-year-girl who lives in the back of my head thinks it's the sweetest thing ever.
I'm conflicted, y'all.
Oh yeah, Hannah totally needs to kick Mona to the curb! So. Completely. Annoying.
Ok, I think I'm done obsessing - until next Monday night, at least!
2. Still listening non-stop to "Hold It Against Me." I cannot get enough of that song! Yes, I'm a Britney fan. However, I wasn't crazy about "Till The World Ends." Not sure why, but just didn't really care for it at all. Also, I'm refusing to listen to any of the other songs until the official release, no matter what.
3. On the same page, I totally dislike Lady Gaga's "Born this Way," both the song AND the video (well, mostly the video - the song may grow on me in time). Sorry Lady Gaga, I still love you, and I appreciate what you are trying to do with the message, but this was an Epic Fail. And don't even get me started on the stupid egg...
4. We saw two movies this last weekend, Rango, & Beastly. I'll try to get reviews up in a few days, but the short version is Rango = Bad, Beastly = Good. Stay tuned to find out why!

Interview - Game of Thrones
MTV posted a brief article yesterday interviewing Emilia Clarke, who talks about her role in HBO's adaptation of 'A Song of Ice and Fire' novels, which premieres in April. Emilia Clarke plays the character of Daenerys Targaryen, an exiled princess. It's a short but interesting article. Enjoy!Photo: Helen Sloan/ HBO
