I am currently reading Words of Radiance, by Brandon Sanderson.  This is a huge novel, and it will probably take me awhile to get through, which means we'll get lots of Teasers out of it!  In this Tease, Shallan watches a Highstorm approaching across the Shattered Plains...

The Tease:

"The stormwall.

A huge sheet of water and debris blown before the storm.  In places, it flashed with light from behind, revealing movement and shadows within.  Like the skeleton of a hand when light illuminated the flesh, there was something inside this wall of destruction."

I am currently reading Words of Radiance, by Brandon Sanderson.  This is a huge novel, and it will probably take me awhile to get through, which means we'll get lots of Teasers out of it!  In this Tease, Shallan has finally reached the Shattered Plains, and finds herself in a place of relative safety...

The Tease:

"In her sitting room - her sitting room - thumps announced the footmen arriving with her trunks.  They left a moment later, closing the door.  for the first time in quite a long while, Shallan found herself not fighting for her survival or worrying about being murdered by one of her traveling companions.

So she fell asleep."

The Tease:

"Shallan gasped at the sudden flare of color.  It disrupted the landscape like breaking lightning in an otherwise clear sky.  Shallan set down her spheres - Tyn was having her practice palming them - and stood up in the wagon, steadying herself with her freehand on the back of her seat.  Yes, it was unmistakable.  Brilliant red and yellow on an otherwise dull canvas of brown and green."
