Teaser Tuesday - Dragon Prince by Melanie Rawn

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their To Be Read (TBR) Lists if they like your teasers!

----------

One of my reading goals for 2014 is to reread some of my favorite books, and I'm beginning with one of my all-time favorite fantasy novels. Many people don't care for it, but I don't even understand those people.  I love this story, and while it might not be perfect, it's pretty darn close in my mind.  For a good number of years, Prince Rohan - in spite of, or maybe because of, his flaws - was the perfect man in my eyes and definitely my first Book Crush.

This week we see Rohan through his sister's eyes for a brief moment at the funeral of their father...

The Tease:

"Rohan stood apart and alone, holding a torch in his hand.  The flame turned his hair to molten gold and sank his eyes into darkness.  He was a stranger tonight.  For almost the first time, Tobin could see their father in him; the Desert had claimed him for its prince."

What's your Tease?

Alternate question - Who was YOUR first Book Crush?  Leave the character name and book title in the comments below, and maybe a little about why you crushed on that character!

  1. I read this first trilogy a few years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks for the memories. Mine is from Jasper Fforde's The Last Dragonslayer: http://eyesandearsblog.blogspot.com/2014/02/teaser-tuesday.html
