Teaser Tuesday - 2312

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their To Be Read (TBR) Lists if they like your teasers!

Well, I am back from vacation!  I had a lovely week with friends and family, and several very nice days camping at the beach;  but now I'm back, I've finished The Seventh Scroll (finally - review coming soon), and have started a new novel.  I'm only a few pages in, really, so I decided to share the opening paragraph today.

The Tease:
 "The sun is always just about to rise.  Mercury rotates so slowly that you can walk fast enough over its rocky surface to stay ahead of the dawn; and so many people do.  Many have made this a way of life.  They walk roughly westward, staying always ahead of the stupendous day."
 -2312, by Kim Stanley Robinson

What's your Tease?

  1. Makes me think on the way I walk in the morning...

    Here's my teaser:

  2. Whoa, I cannot wait to read your review, sounds right up my alley!
    Mine is from Lakebrige - SUMMER by Natasha Troop

  3. My most favorite teaser I've read today. Maybe ever

  4. While I was reading your teaser, I was trying to imagine how it must be to live on a planet that revolved so fast. Good teaser that got me to thinking.
    My Teaser is from ... And the Whippoorwill Sang.

  5. Hi, great blog! I am a new follower from Teaser Tuesday. I would love a follow back!
